Setting

This fairy tale farce, which originally starred Carol Burnett, tells the story of how the overbearing Queen Aggravain has kept the bachelor Prince Dauntless the Drab to herself by requiring his potential brides to pass impossible tests — twelve candidates have already failed. Then, the resourceful Princess Winnifred arrives, dripping wet from having just swum the moat, and declares herself a contender . . .

Director’s Notes

I’ve been directing Theatre productions for over 30 years, including educational, professional, and in community Theatres. Seldom have I had the support in the technical phase of Theatre that I have had in this production.

This is because of the extra effort of Master Carpenter, Andy Szuwalski.

Andy took my castle and set designs and made appropriate suggestions and changes, then went to work pre-cutting all the material to build the set from scratch.

When it came time to put everything together, the crew took a bundle of sticks, put them together, and erected the set you see before you. Plus, Andy designed all the pieces so they may be used in future events and productions.

Such dedication should not go unnoticed.

Farewell to the Buchwald Family!

VTG bids a fond farewell to the Buchwald’s, who are moving to Memphis. Jeff and Carol have been important contributors to VTG productions in recent years. Our loss is Memphis’ gain.
We will miss them!
