We again offered two rehearsal sessions, an intensive 4-hour-per-day rehearsal schedule in the morning as well as a 1-1/2-hour-per-day rehearsal schedule in the afternoon. The morning group rehearsed beginning 10 June, and the afternoon session began rehearsals on 3 June. ALL plays performed the same weekend, Thursday-Sunday, 27-30 June.

Interested adults helped in all areas. Many of the props and sets were made by parents, whose participation has been essential to the program.

We sold ads for the program at the following rates:

$125—full-page

$75—1/2-page

$40—1/4-page

$30—business card

Fairy Tale Theatre, established in 1985 by Don and Kathryn Resio and now in its seventeenth year, is open to children ages seven through eighteen. Last year we had 96 participants. Through Fairy Tale Theatre, children have an opportunity to participate in all aspects of live theater. We strongly advocate participation in community theater, as it promotes leadership, responsibility, integrity, and creativity while offering young people an opportunity to showcase their talents. Each of the Fairy Tale plays are produced for children. Older children direct some of the productions, while children of all ages serve as performers and gain experience in areas of theatre such as learning lines, blocking, making costumes, helping with set construction, and working backstage. Fairy Tale Theater is often the only chance many of our young people have to be actively involved in the performing arts.

The Orientation session, where cast lists were announced, was held on 19 May. We held Auditions 27 and 28 April.
