William Franklin Hallberg III

Services for William Franklin “Bill” Hallberg III will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Riles Funeral Home with Dr. John G. McCall, pastor emeritus of First Baptist Church, officiating. Burial will follow at Cedar Hill Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 4 until 8 tonight at the funeral home.

Mr. Hallberg died Saturday, Sept. 6, 2003, in Issaquena County. He was 40.

Born in Vicksburg, Mr. Hallberg was a graduate of Vicksburg High School and received an associate degree in agriculture from Hinds Community College. He had worked as a safety coordinator at LeTourneau Inc. for the past two years.

He was involved in the “Gold in the Hills” melodrama and served as a backstage manager for the Miss Mississippi Pageant. He was a member of the Valley Park Country Club Hunting Camp. He attended First Baptist Church.

Mr. Hallberg was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Jane Hallberg.

Survivors include his father, W.F. “Buddy” Hallberg of Vicksburg; a brother, Miles Hallberg of Spartanburg, S.C.; a niece, Brenna Leigh Hallberg of Spartanburg; a nephew, David Wesley Hallberg of Spartanburg; and other relatives.

Pallbearers will be Smokey Kelly, Terry Winschel, Paul Flaharty, Ricky Cockrell, Huey Walter, Joe Harris, Steve Butler and Arthur Casey.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the production staff of the Miss Mississippi Pageant and members of VPCC Hunting Camp.
