Vicksburg Theatre Guild

Building Fund Campaign

The table below shows the projects we submitted and the status of the availability of funds. The Mississippi Arts Commission did not fully fund any of the project grant requests, so we still have a shortfall. They are, however, providing $31,175 to support our requirements if we are able to raise $20,785 in local matching funds.

We have established a separate Building Fund for the Arts (BFA) bank account. Funds donated to the BFA campaign will only be used for the work approved in the grant. Since we are a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt organization, tax-deductible donations may be made, as provided in Section 170 of the U.S. Internal Revenue Code.

We opened the BFA account with $500 in funds remaining from a loan we took to make roof repairs. On June 5, 2003, we received our first donation, $500 from a generous theatre supporter who wishes to remain anonymous. Since then, we have received over $24,000 in donations and an additional $10,000 has been pledged.
