Save Your Community Theatre

Donation Form

We need your help! The Vicksburg Theatre Guild's Parkside Playhouse is in desperate need of repairs, and we need to raise $50,000. The necessary repairs will cost more, but we have been awarded a 60/40 matching-funds grant from the Mississippi Arts Commission Building Fund for the Arts. This award will provide over $31,000 in grant funds if we are successful in raising the local share. Our fundraising goal of $50,000 will allow us to get this grant, complete the most urgent repairs to the exterior walls and replace the auditorium carpet, and enable cost sharing for future Mississippi Arts Commission grant requests.

Now is the time to act to play a key role in the saving of our building which houses:

  • The oldest chartered community theatre in Mississippi

  • Seasonal productions of “Gold in the Hills,” listed as the Guinness Book of Record’s longest-running melodrama

  • Annual productions of “Fairy Tale Theatre,” the only local children’s summer theatre workshop

  • Four main-stage productions each year, wholly produced, directed and performed by volunteer members

We invite you to help preserve this multi-generational community organization which, for decades, has allowed so many talented residents to bring your favorite theatrical presentations to life. As we approach the 70th anniversary for “Gold in the Hills” and the 25th anniversary of the opening of the Parkside Playhouse, please join us to help rescue the building which is the soul of theatre in our community.

Our levels of contribution are:

  • Platinum — $2500 or more

  • Gold — $1000 to $2499

  • Silver — $250 to $999

  • Bronze — $1 to $249
