The 72nd season of
Gold
in the Hills
has ended, but the curtain never closes!
If you are interested in being a cast member, please contact Earlene McCleave. We were 71 years old on March 28, 2007. On March 28, 1936, Gold in the Hills opened on an Army Corps of Engineers barge converted to look like a riverboat. Come see what has kept audiences entertained all these years. The Vicksburg Post investigated the peanut ban. The article also appeared in The Clarion Ledger of Jackson. The dedication of the Sprague floodwall mural in March 2007 was recognized by two stories in The Vicksburg Post, one about the Bergeron sisters, and another about the unveiling ceremony. The Vicksburg Post also ran nice articles for our spring 2005 run, our 70th Anniversary, and Georgina's retirement. We have started our 72nd season. Gold in the Hills, the Guinness Book of World Records' longest continuously-running melodrama, is having another exciting season in March and July 2007, with performances Friday and Saturday nights starting at 7:30 pm. We offer open seating, no reservations required, and always plenty of seats. Click here for information about ticket prices.
Become a part of history when you
witness the 72nd season of the Guinness Book of World
Records' continuously-longest running melodrama! Fun for the whole family. Sing the old songs! Cheer the hero! Boo the villain! Presented yearly since 1936, it features a relentless hero, a winsome heroine, a ruthless villain, beautiful can-can dancers, and the wilder side of city life in the infamous New York Bowery.
