We are proud to present Fairy Tale Courtroom, Brothers Grimm: Out of Order, Beanie and the Bamboozling Book Machine, and The Dragons of Spring, an original script by Vicksburg Playwright Richard Van Den Akker.

Fairy Tale Theatre is open to children ages seven through eighteen. Through Fairy Tale Theatre, children gain experience in many of the areas of theatre such as learning lines, making costumes, helping with set construction, and helping backstage.

Fairy Tale Theatre, established in 1986 by Don and Kathryn Resio, will celebrate its 22nd season in 2007. Many of the props and sets have been made by our parents, whose participation is essential to the success of our program. We need interested adults to help in all areas.

Information:

Performances June 21-24: tickets $5 adults and $3 children (age 12 & under)
Open to all children ages 7-18 years old

Progress:

New this year: save time by downloading and filling out the audition registration forms (93 KB Adobe reader file).
Auditions were April 21-22, 2007 from 2-5 p.m. at the Parkside Playhouse.
Orientation was May 12 at 1 p.m. at the Parkside Playhouse. Cast lists and rehearsal schedules were announced and scripts were distributed. Registration fees are due at Orientation: $35 per child for VTG members and $55 per child for non-members. Memberships may also be purchased during Orientation.
During Orientation, we again hosted a mini training session for all FTT participants so they could learn a little bit about the theater before their play production begins. We provided instruction in the following areas:
- Make-up (what to buy, how to use it etc.)
- Costumes
- Stage (how to project, what directions mean etc.)
- Lights (and what not to touch)
- Shop (set construction, safety rules etc.)
Rehearsals started on May 30.
The time slots for FTT this year are:
10:00 - 11:30
12:30 - 2:00
3:30 - 5:00
5:15 - 6:45
