Once upon a time, in a far away swamp, there lived an ogre named Shrek. One day, Shrek finds his swamp invaded by banished fairytale misfits who have been cast off by Lord Farquaad, a tiny terror with big ambitions. When Shrek sets off with a wisecracking donkey to confront Farquaad, he’s handed a task — if he rescues feisty princess Fiona, his swamp will be righted. Shrek tries to win Fiona’s love and vanquish Lord Farquaad, but a fairytale wouldn’t be complete without a few twists and turns along the way.

VTG Open Audition Policy
It is the policy of the Vicksburg Theatre Guild that all auditions are open to the public. We need and want any interested people, newcomers and stage veterans alike, to participate in the fun and excitement of live theatre. We publicize our auditions in local and regional media to attempt to make all interested parties aware of our performing opportunities. Because the Directors of our plays only have limited roles for which they are casting, everybody who auditions will not be selected for a part. However, we are also always in need of assistance in other areas of theatre, including set construction, set artwork, lighting, and backstage technical activities, so people who are not selected for acting roles have other enjoyable activities available. We invite all members of the public to participate in these activities, as well.
We encourage everybody in the cast and production staff to be members of the Vicksburg Theatre Guild. View our membership rates and the benefits of membership.
